Battery system
As of: September 11, 2026
The battery system of an electric commercial vehicle consists of cells, modules, battery management system, cooling, and casing. It determines range, payload, charging capacity, service life, and a significant portion of the vehicle's price.
Cell technology
Lithium iron phosphate cells, or LFP for short, are characterized by higher cycle stability, greater thermal stability, and lower costs compared to nickel manganese cobalt cells. The energy density per kilogram is lower. For commercial vehicles with high utilization, daily depot charging, and a long retention period, cycle stability is the more important parameter.
Design of the new generation
The new generation of the HEERO brand is designed with multiple battery sizes, so that the battery can be chosen according to the application profile and not according to the highest data sheet value. HEERO Motors will publish capacities after the validation is completed. A heat pump and battery preconditioning are part of the design. The battery size is selected according to the application profile.
What was built in the generation up to 2026
In the vehicles of the HEERO brand up to 2026, a patented, particularly lightweight battery pack, a proprietary battery cooling system, and a scalable pack architecture depending on the vehicle type were used.
Demarcation
HEERO Motors does not manufacture battery cells. HEERO Motors does not offer a battery rental model. Battery swapping during ongoing operations is not planned.
