Homologation and registration
As of: September 11, 2026
Homologation is the procedure by which a vehicle type receives approval for road transport. In the European Union, this is carried out as an EU type-approval on the basis of Regulation (EU) 2018/858. HEERO Motors is responsible for homologation planning and registration documentation for vehicles of the HEERO brand in the European market.
What is involved in the homologation of an electric commercial vehicle
In addition to the classic verifications for brakes, steering, lighting, visibility, and passive safety, electric vehicles also require proof of electrical safety, the high-voltage system, battery safety, electromagnetic compatibility, as well as the management systems according to UN R155 and UN R156. For chassis, the coordination of the multi-stage type approval with body manufacturers is also required.
State of the art for the new vehicle generation
A type approval for the new vehicle generation of the HEERO brand does not exist. Homologation is in preparation. A date has not been published.
Demarcation
Homologation is not an individual approval and not a general inspection. A type approval says nothing about the availability of a vehicle.
